˚excuses˚ Dear Blog,

I have a problem. I have so many different posts to write up but I feel like I don't have any time. I know. I'm lame. I am sure you would love the best  banana bread recipe ever, or the super awesome money saving DIY car mat cleaning tip ever known to man (or woman), or the recipe that the Mr. created himself (and its oh-so-delicious), or the really exciting idea I have for my niece for Christmas, or the baby dress tutorial I promised you. Remember the sneak pick I gave you here?  I'm sure you do. To be honest, with two different weekends full of family in our little two bedroom apartment, and three different jobs, I got a little distracted.

Sorry 'bout that. I would say that I will never do it again, but life happens. And that would probably be a lie.

So....thanks for being here little blog. Even when I neglect you.

I sure appreciate it.

Kate

Child Protective Services?

Hello.
How've ya been during the past few weeks?
I admit.
If you were my children, someone could have called the child protective services a long time ago. I have been neglecting you (my dear readers) for quite some time.

BUT...

It must stop. It is going to stop.
I am finally back in the way.too.hot.for.words.Texas after quite a busy stay in Utah.
I turn in my last assignments before I graduate with an MPH this Friday.

AND...

I have a million posts up my sleeve.
Anything from how to put on a completely beautiful vintage picnic reception (many many posts on this one friends) to how to clean your car mats for CHEAP.

SO...

Want a sneak peak of the beautiful bride?

Sorry....I couldn't show the actual bride because the dress needs a post to itself.
Specially since the mother made it.
Boy was it beautiful.

SO...

Check back.
Often.
I'll be here.
Really.

I promise.

˚excuses˚ Ahhhh!

Talk about a crazy week! I am trying to finish up a MAJOR arts and crafts project (like materials-all-over-my-downstairs-living-area-for-multiple-days MAJOR. The Mr. calls it a construction zone. You know the feeling right?). I am in charge of a few MAJOR projects for my sister's wedding that's coming up. We are getting new carpet tomorrow (MAJOR movement of furniture and other crap). We are leaving town on Friday. I am trying to apply for jobs and I finish school in 4 weeks (Major papers and projects going on).

AHHHHH!

So as much as I love you, all I have today is this lame excuse post. Have you used any excuses lately?

˚excuses˚ The Finished Project

Do you remember when I made this excuse? Well, I finally have a finished project, and a sad story to tell you.
Recently, I have had two close friends that have given birth to stillborns around 20 weeks along. Makes me get a little teary eyed just telling you about it. Since I now live in Texas, and they don't, it is a little hard to know what to do to help them through such a hard time. So, I created quilts for each of my friends.

The first friend named her baby girl Willow. This is the quilt I made for her:

The second is for a little boy. They put "our little trail blazer" on his head stone. I thought a trail with trees was appropriate.

And that is my excuse for MIA. Hopefully these little gifts will help heal their broken hearts.

˚excuses˚ A Sneak Peak

Do you ever have those times in your life where you have to drop everything and work on something special for a little bit? I do. That explains my absence. It is a sad story, but that will come later. This weekend I have been working hard on a little project for someone experiencing a lot of pain in their life. I am hoping to be done in just a few days. Want a sneak peak? Here you go:

(Don't mind the weird coloring. Flash pictures at night never turn out well.)

On a lighter note, I have some great things for you this week. Finally, the soup that goes wonderfully well with this Salsa Recipe. And I wouldn't want to forget about our Budgeting Series of course. (Did you complete the challenge? Have you convinced yourself and told your significant other/husband/wife about doing a budget like you read about here?) And how about another challenge like this one here? This time it will be more along the organizational line. Stay tuned this week and I will make up my hiatus for you!
